A meeting of the Executive Committee on Agriculture between Russia and Turkey was held in Ankara. The Russian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Maxim Markovich, and the Turkish delegation by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ahmet Bağcı. The parties discussed the development of mutual trade in agricultural products and mineral fertilizers, as well as cooperation in the field of veterinary and phytosanitary control. By the end of 2025, the turnover of agricultural products increased by 6%.
Positive dynamics continue this year: in the first half of the year, the figure grew by more than 30%. Russia remains one of the main suppliers to the Turkish market of grains, legumes, and oil and fat products. In 2025, Russia began exporting beef to Turkey. In turn, Russia purchases fish products, fruits, and citrus fruits from Turkey.
The turnover of mineral fertilizers between the countries nearly doubled in 2025. Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation in the agricultural sector.
