Kazakhstan exported 24,000 tons of lentils in May 2025/26, a 14% increase from April. Since the start of the season, the country has shipped 47% more lentils to foreign markets than last year, totaling 394,900 tons. This is 20% higher than the previous record. Turkey increased its imports from Kazakhstan by 2.3 times, reaching 347.1 thousand tons, accounting for 88% of total exports.
Other countries, including Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan, also received shipments. Evgeny Karabanov, a Union analyst, forecasts lentil exports to reach 470,000 tons in 2025/26, an all-time high.
